Take Me To Tuscany
Would you like to win a trip to Italy? Asked the team at Tuscany Now.
Well yes! Thought I. How lovely! Tell me more and how?
One click onto their website told me all I needed to know,
Nominate a person to take with you and blog about why they deserve to go.
Don’t forget to mention what you’d do there and the places you’d like to see,
Then spread the word on Twitter- it’s as easy as can be!
By this time my mind was in Florence then Pisa then oh how it continued to wander,
So many people deserve a break away, but who to take? I pondered.
It dawned on me then that it had to be Tom, my boyfriend, yes he’s my nomination!
Last week we celebrated 5 years together- he’s deserving of this prize as a small token of my appreciation.
A weekend in Tuscany with a villa that’s just ours,
A chance for me to say thank you for helping me this far.
We’d wine taste by day and explore neighbourhoods by night,
Be tourists by a leaning tower and see all the Firenze sights.
Fresh produce from a market would make the perfect Italian meal,
Followed by a sunset from the terrace admiring all the region’s appeal.
Postcard perfect moments surely worthy of a blog post or three,
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our little anniversary.
Together we’ve laughed, grown and seen the world through each other’s eyes,
If nothing else he’s dating an actress and that alone is worthy of a huge reward prize.
So take me to Tuscany, the gelato and the Olive trees,
It would be an adventure to remember in a place we’ve always wanted to be.
