No Christmas in London would be complete without the annual pilgrimage to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. We were incredibly lucky that when we visited yesterday the weather was a perfect shade of December blue and the crowds were manageable. As far as themed attractions go I really do love this one; the scale this year seems bigger than I remember and the attention to sparkly festive details makes me feel as warm as several mulled wines do. Here are some photo highlights from the afternoon.
This cheese pretzel was as big as it looks. Judge away.
We picked a prime ice skating time of 4pm so we could skate round as the sun set and the lights twinkled.
The ice rink was perhaps my favourite in the capital so far- the acoustic singer in the centre of the bandstand was such a welcome addition and we all know how strongly I feel about large quantities of fairy lights.
If you’re in living in/visiting London over the next month I’d definitely recommend going along to Winter Wonderland for a few hours. A pretty parkland transformed with the intention of offering a place to skate, sample Gluhwein and savour a variety of snacks. Are you feeling festive yet?
Let me , your mother , be the first to indeed pass judgement on that ENORMOUS pretzel !!!!!!!!
Lovely photos though xx
But it was so wonderfully full of cheese… I just couldn’t resist.
wow, great photos and seems you had a lot of fun 🙂
